What Has Happened So Far
As a growing archive, Chronicle informs about previous projects of Away Art Residencies, such as the publication AWAY – The Book about Residencies and the exhibition Stories from Abroad including the discursive program of the Laboratory. Studios since 1970 highlights current developments of the International Residency Program of the BMKOES, documents all historical studios and, under On Tour since 1970, lists the names of all artists who stayed at those studios during the 50-year history of the Program.
A residency … space and time … sabbatical, research, think tank … experimentation, trial and error, new alignments … networking, exchange, coaching … exposure, publicity, traffic … solitude, concentration, time off … renegotiation, reevaluation, relocation, restart.
