Around 1,000 Austrian Visual and Media Artists

have lived and worked in one of the studios of the BMKOES abroad since the 1970s. Among them, there are artists who later on represented Austria at the Venice Biennale, documenta or other important contemporary art shows and succeeded in the global art market, who, teaching at universities, pass on their experiences to the next generation and who have become important voices in the current art discourse.
