Studios: Austrian Art Residencies at Home and Abroad
Austria’s federal government and provinces as well as individual cities support visual and media artists as well as theorists through a great variety of national and international art residencies. Away Art Residencies networks all the programs currently offered and allows potential applicants to filter studios by place, awarding institution and artistic specializations so that they can find the art residency optimally suited for them based on technical, organizational and personal parameters. Under Calls, Away lists both calls issued by public institutions and art residencies offered by independent initiatives.
Outgoing programs take Austrian professionals to art residencies abroad, while incoming programs offer art residencies for foreign practitioners in Austria. Applicants can find relevant requirements, conditions and application forms by following the links to the website of the awarding institutions. For further details on filter categories, please see the Glossary.
Current developments of the renowned International Residency Program of the BMKOES as well as its 50-year history, including all historical studios, are presented in the Chronicle under Studios since 1970.
